| Note: These plywood huts had no air conditioning or cooler, and the weather got extremely hot during the middle of the summer. So the pilots (and enlisted men as well) had to do what they could to stay cool. There was almost no shade anywhere on base, and the swimming pool at Sidi Slimane AB was still being built at this time. |
